I am sorry for slacking off posting to my Blog! There is really no excuse for that. The only one I have is just being busy, but then...aren't we all?
I have a great story about one of my walks too! Ok...so let's see, when is the last time I posted. June 22, huh? WOW, yup...I am a slacker.
We had our Garage Sale and made $500.00!! How great is that? I thought that was TERRIFIC!! So I donated that money through mine and Barbara's websites to Susan G. Komen. We had perfect weather and all the items we had were donated to us by friends and family. It, of course, never ceases to amaze me how much people want to haggle prices with you. Now I do realize that this is a garage sale, almost all the items are used, but really people, all the money is going to a worthy cause, but must you insult my (our) intelligence by wanting to pay .25 for what is obviously a brand new, still in the original package, board game? Let's get real. Or how about .10 for that pile of used clothes that will clothe a family of 12 for the next two winters? I realize they are used, but .10? That pile is 6 feet high!! Get a grip!! You will need a U-Haul to get it out of the yard for crying out loud! But I digress....Since it was such a hit...we are going to try again. THIS WEEKEND! (Do I shoot my now?? UGH!! LOL...maybe I should get out the video camera and send it to America's Funniest Home Video's. Is that show still on the air?)
The 4th of July was a great time! My Nephew is back from serving overseas. They were able to come down from Fort Drum and visit for the week. His dad and sister came out from Utah. We had a BBQ at my sister's where they all stayed. It was really good. I sang with the chorus I am a member of in Verona Park. It's Verona's 100 Birthday (or whatever you want to call it) this year so the town had a big thing in the park that day. None of my FAMILY was able to come to the park for the chorus' little concert thing. But the Maloney's were there. They are so good too me! :)! I walked around the park for a bit after that. they had a bunch of people from town with booths. Then I took a few photos of the flowers that were blooming in the children's garden in the park, with the flags they had around. Since it was starting to get darker and ominously darker I thought that I should start heading to my sisters. I had walked to the park from my house and would need a ride to my sisters. Well....needless to say, I didn't miss the rain. I went and stood under one of the trees in the park and called my mom to let her know what was going on. No, I didn't bring an umbrella. Eventually, the rain let up a little and I started walking up the avenue to meet my Mom. I ended up meeting her up by where Mountainside Family Practice is. So that was a good walk for me that day!
hmm....I will have to save the Domino the Cat story for another post. I will put the "The playground is by the trees" post in with that one too. Those two happened fairly close together.
